What Is Collaborative Divorce?

Collaborative Divorce is the best thing that has happened to divorce litigation in our lifetimes. Imagine an alternative method for moving through the divorce process that provides a future where you and your ex-spouse can be together for your child’s ball games, graduation or marriage instead of on opposite sides of the field or room. It is possible! How great would that be for your kids? We know that over half of all marriages end in divorce so it is time for a healthier way to move through this difficult time.

The goal of Collaborative Divorce is:

To give parties going through separation and divorce the opportunity to develop shared solutions with the support of a team of legal, mental health and financial professionals committed to helping them accomplish their goals in a non-adversarial process based upon trust, honesty, compromise, cooperation, full disclosure, integrity and professionalism.

Collaborative Divorce provides a unique method of dispute resolution for:

People who prefer an alternative to the court-based system, in which parties establish their own goals and maintain control over the timing and substance of the resolution of their issues with assistance from a team of legal, mental health and financial professionals committed to helping the parties accomplish their goals through direct discussions that encourage creative resolutions to disputes which take into account the interests of all parties.

Where to begin:

I understand this is a difficult circumstance and time of life and look forward to hearing your situation and discussing your options with you.  Should you choose the Collaborative resolution process, the team you select will help you through to a less painful, lower-conflict and supported settlement and reshaping of your family and co-parenting relationship.
